John, one of Jesus’ friends, said: “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” What does John mean? How can you live through Jesus?

The Bible says that there is a wall that separates you from God. That wall is your sin. Your sin creates a gulf between you and God too wide for you to ever cross alone. You can never be good enough or clean enough to be in the presence of a holy, perfect, living God. The consequence of your sin is spiritual death.

Jesus wanted you to experience the fullness of spiritual life. So he gave the most precious thing he had—his own life—so that the wall separating you from God could be destroyed. He died so that you can be in relationship with God. He, alone, can connect you to God.

If you believe in Jesus and accept His free gift of grace, then you begin a new life that doesn’t end in death. You begin life in Christ—a journey that leads to the day when you will meet God face to face. Are you ready to begin the journey? Are you ready to walk in the most excellent way?
